Spooner Industries and Solaronics have jointly developed a unique Near Infra Red and Air impingement compact oven system, combining the best of both technologies
Optimum Product Quality
The combination of Near Infra Red in the “solvent removal” stages and Air Impingement for the “cure” stages ensures optimum product quality and cure characteristics comparable to traditional impingement systems. A major advantage for customers with multiple lines who will be able to produce the same products with the same paints on conventional and compact lines.
Incorporating Spooner “state of the art” Flotation Technology

Strip stabilisation section allows:
• Low strip vibration through the critical Coater and Near IR sections improving coated surface quality and heat transfer
• Higher air velocities and heat transfer rates in force convection sections and therefore shorter total oven lengths
Versatility
The Near-Air Combi Oven can be mounted Vertically or Horizontally which together with its compact design and use of standard paints mean it can be effectively utilised in a number of different lines layouts. Typical examples:
a.High Speed Combined Galvanising and Painting Lines
The low cure time, use of standard paints and extremely flexible operation make Near-Air Combi Oven an ideal choice.
b.Low/Medium Speed Stop Start lines
Compact design, low running costs and flexible operation make the Near-Air Combi Oven an excellent choice for stop start lines with short runs and a wide range of products.
Reactive and Flexible Operation
Solaronics Near Infra Red technology offers rapid reaction times to maintain optimum performance regardless of operating conditions. The Spooner Air Impingement system utilises the most
advanced control software available to ensure the impingement sections can react as rapidly as Near Infra Red to meet all customer needs. Offering customers extremely high availability, optimum quality and reduced scrap at all times.
Low Energy Costs
From its first conception the Near-Air Combi Oven was designed to reduce running costs by using Solaronics high efficiency lamp and reflector design, Spooner ‘state of the art’ optimization systems and full integration with industry leading Oxidiser and heat recovery technology.
• Near IR mounted in the cleaner front section with all air impingement at the rear
• 3 year Near IR lamp working life
• Quartz glass protection system
• Anti condensate features in air impingement sections

Bekaert HighEfficiency Reflectors Lamps don’t reflect on each other extending lamp life. Gold reflectors for maximum efficiency.
Competitors Standard Reflectors
Lamps radiate on each other, shortening life. Lower efficiency surface (Aluminium etc).
Simple Operation
To help maintain simple operation and flexibly the control system will include predictive recipe control software Spooner-PSC, designed to reduce oven set up time and the production of substandard product. The Spooner-PSC predictive control software automatically sets all the Near-Air Combi Oven and oxidizer parameters ensuring:
• Smooth integration with the process line (Combination line or Colour Coat) operation
• Consistent production of quality product and reduced scrap, regardless of operator team or process demands
• Reduced setting up time and operator input/time
• Energy efficient operation
