Lee completed his degree in Fuel & Energy Engineering at the University of Leeds, before joining Spooner in 1997. Lee started his career working as a test centre engineer in Spooner’s in-house R&D facility in Ilkley before progressing to applications engineer and then sales.
Lee is now the Sales Manager, alongside Matthew, for the Paper, Converting & Non-Wovens Industries. Lee’s territories include the UK, Scandinavia, Asia, Australisia & Eastern Europe. Lee works closely with Spooner’s Asian Business Development Manager, Ruben Liu who is based in the Shanghai office.
Outside work Lee enjoys playing golf and 5-a-side football, he supports Liverpool FC, Wigan Warriors RLFC & Lancashire CC.
Matthew completed his apprenticeship at Cobden Chawick, producer of flexographic printing presses, in 1989.
During his career Matthew has worked in various roles in the Drawing Office and Project Management to Sales Engineer for companies including Black Clawson selling paper machine head boxes and Lamort selling stock preparation & de-inking equipment.
In 1998, Matthew joined Spooner as Sales Manager for the Paper, Converting and Non-Wovens industries. Alongside Lee Fairhurst and supporting agents they deal with customers all over the world. Matthew is responsible for Southern Europe, North & South America, Africa and the Middle East.
Matthew is a keen cyclist and when not in the saddle enjoys fine red wine, great food and getting away on relaxing beach holidays.
Rob graduated from University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a degree in Chemical and Process Engineering, MSc Clean Technology.
Before joining Spooner in 2010, Rob gained plenty of experience through his many roles working in Environmental regulation with the Environment Agency and Local Authority Environmental Health, as a Waste Management Operations Engineer and Combustion Systems Project Manager Applications Engineer.
Rob now concentrates on the Paper and Converting industries as applications engineer, working closely with Lee and Matthew.
In his spare time Rob enjoys motorcycle riding, watching motor sports and rugby.
